If asbestos containing materials (ACMs) are, or are likely to be, present in the workplace, a documented Asbestos Management Plan (AMP) must usually be prepared, in addition to the Asbestos Register.
Recommendations for ongoing ACM and asbestos risk management in the workplace are included in our Asbestos Assessment Reports, which will form the basis of any AMP.
The AMP should clearly set out what will be done, when, how and by whom, for the purposes of managing asbestos exposure risks.
If there is an existing AMP it must be reviewed in response to a review of ACMs or the Asbestos Register, disturbance or removal of ACMs, or at the request of a safety representative. The AMP must be reviewed at least once every 5 years in accordance with national legislation.
BENSS can assist with all aspects of the Asbestos Management Plan.

Our Asbestos Consultants work with a broad client range, tailoring AMPs to individual circumstances and budgets.
For a single site, or national property portfolio, our expert team can design all or part of the AMP.
A copy of the AMP must be readily available to anyone who has worked, or intends to work at the site; health and safety representatives; or anyone conducting a business at the site who requires, or may require, work to be carried out at the workplace.
