BENSS was founded in 2009, by a team bringing a wealth of experience & qualifications from senior positions with major UK & Australian consultancies.

We provide solutions for all built environments and workplaces, in the fields of Asbestos & Hazardous Materials, Occupational Hygiene, Environmental Monitoring, and Building Sustainability & Performance.

Our objectives are to deliver industry-leading solutions, and develop a lasting relationship with our clients based on trust and quality of service.



Our client profiles are many and varied, including universities, Government, manufacturing, and maritime, and we have delivered projects of all sizes.

BENSS is a team of industry professionals who are all individually well-experienced, and capable at providing site-based assessments, training, and project management.

Although we are smaller than many of our industry competitors, this means we can provide a more personal and tailored service. Our experienced consultants will be with you every step of the way, and are always available for friendly and impartial advice.

Our smaller size also means we have lower overheads, and are not operating on the whim of shareholders – so we can offer cost-effective services, and usually better any comparative quotes you might receive.

All of our field staff have a minimum of 15 years’ experience and are postgraduates in a relevant science degree. Many of our larger industry competitors will often send inexperienced field staff to site.

Our senior management have a minimum of 25 years’ hazardous materials industry experience, and relevant industry and postgraduate qualifications.
